Minimum Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate of Medical School, recognized by the Medical Council of the country of origin.
  • Completion of appropriate internship and residency programs.
  • Post-graduation qualifications in the specialty.
  • Successful completion of Specialty training / post graduate. The candidates who have completed the training can immediately apply
  • Relevant Certifications
  • Subspecialty degree or structured subspecialty training preferred.
  • Membership, Fellowship and/or Board Certification in the respective specialty.
  • Relevant licensure from the country of origin, acceptable to Saudi Commission for Health Specialty and Ministry of Health.

Job Summary 

Specialist Ultrasonologist is fully responsible to Perform and examine diagnostic ultrasound images within the scope of radiology services as well as ensure that the practice adheres to relevant ultrasound safety legislation at the practice site.. He should involve in continuous quality improvement activities of the department and hospital to achieve the goals of the hospital.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a diagnostic ultrasound specialist and examine all types of ultrasound radiological examinations requiring fluoroscopy, special procedures, angiography, invasive procedures, Ultrasound scanning within the limit of his/her training, experience and clinical privileges, and with the approval of the Radiology Director.
  • Responsible for daily operations of the ultrasound laboratory, patients’ schedule, report of equipment failures and quality assessment.
  • Generate professional reports and provide opinion when consulted.
  • Register, organize and keep data of patients for future studies and research activities.
  • Provide on-call during night and stay at the hospital during medical/surgical emergencies and under moral or contractual obligations.
  • Support the Radiology Director in all function of the Radiology Department.
  • Participate in quality improvement and safety programs of the service to meet group standards.
  • Participate in Physician/Radiologist conferences to keep updated professional qualifications.
  • Maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times.
  • Participate in person-cantered care initiatives undertaken by the hospital.
  • Provide orientation, bedside training and supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate trainees (interns, residents and fellows) as assigned.
  • Participate in self-and others’ education, training and development as applicable and department’s educational activities and training programs of the department.
  • Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties that are applicable to Radiology Department and as requested by the Head of Radiology.
